In the past few months, she's traveled from Jaipur (for vacation) to Los Angeles (for the Grammys) and back to London (for the BRIT Awards) with a slate of inspiring spring outfit ideas packed in her Hermès carry-on. Heading home from her latest trip to Paris, the singer enlisted her boyfriend, actor Callum Turner, for a coordinating style moment that embodies traveling in style.

On Tuesday, March 29, the two lovebirds were spotted toting their luggage outside of St. Pancras Station in London. They had just arrived in the city after taking the Eurostar from Paris, where they attended a Yves Saint Laurent beauty event the evening before. (Dua is a new face of the luxury beauty label.)

For a day in transit, Lipa wore a deep forest green leather trench coat that nonchalantly grazed the floor. The singer took her coat in a casual direction by layering it over straight-leg denim and slipping on her beloved Puma sneakers (which have become an undeniable staple of her street style wardrobe).

As for her accessories, Lipa carried a classic black Hermès bag decorated with a dainty scarf. She hid her face behind a sleek pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Turner followed suit on the outerwear front, matching Lipa’s personal style by wearing a chocolate brown leather jacket with a rustic flair. The Masters of the Air actor kept the rest of his look fairly simple with a collared polo sweater, black straight-leg jeans, and Chelsea boots.

The two aren’t strangers to matching each other's style vibes. Whether intentionally or not, they often tend to coordinate outfits when the public sees them spending time together. A few months ago, Dua and Callum were spotted on a casual date while grabbing coffee in Beverly Hills. For the occasion, the singer opted for a pair of cropped light-wash jeans and a knit tank top; Turner took on the denim memo but matched his to a crewneck sweater.

Moral of the story: Couple coordination isn't something to shy away from, even in transit. And, Lipa's leather trench look is worth copying for an elevated twist on travel style (whether you're accessorizing with a partner or not). <![CDATA[ Beyoncé Counts Down to 'Cowboy Carter' in the Double Denim Trend ]]> Bey Day is almost here, and the singer's Western era is just beginning—with a touch of 2024's reigning denim trends.

In the midst of her pivot to country, mere days away from the release of her new album Cowboy Carter, on March 29, Beyoncé celebrated her new era in head-to-toe designer denim. "4 days until act ii COWBOY CARTER," she declared in an Instagram caption.

The pop star's promotional photoshoot highlighted a number of independent and experimental luxury brands. Beyoncé wore a pair of Y/Project cut-out jeans, strategically sliced to look like a pair of chaps.

She paired the pants with a Marine Serre Regenerated Denim Jacket, a cropped piece patched together with different denim washes and the brand's signature half moon logo. There's also a subtle nod to Madonna's Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra with stitched circles on each breast.

The singer accessorized with a white cowboy hat, pointed-toe denim heeled boots, aviator sunglasses, a thick silver chain necklace, a denim Balenciaga Hourglass Small Bag, and of course, an all-American matte red lip.

Beyoncé isn't the first star to embrace the double denim trend this year. At Paris Fashion Week, street style was filled with denim-on-denim looks. And back in the states, celebrities like Sydney Sweeney have tried their own interpretations of the jeans-only look. Bella Hadid is committing to the cowgirl lifestyle, too, and recently wore her own all-denim outfit. Hadid's version featured a Y2K moto jacket silhouette, low-rise jeans, and brown heeled cowboy boots.

For her last pre-Cowboy Carter shoot, Beyoncé wore a black, avant-garde tuxedo with a twangy twist. Instead of a bow tie, she tied a shiny black ribbon around her collar, with a string of diamonds hanging down the center, mimicking a bolo tie. Bey even had a matching ten-gallon hat for the occasion.

<![CDATA[ Women Quit Shopping on a Quest for Personal Style. It (Mostly) Worked ]]> Olivia Galli, a photographer and influencer in New York City, has the sort of closet her nearly 200,000 TikTok followers would beg to borrow or steal from. Still, by the end of 2023, she’d fallen out of love with her wardrobe. Then came a new year, and a nearly three-month effort that made Galli enamored with her clothes all over again—especially the racks of vintage handed down from her grandmother. The twist? She didn’t have to buy a holy grail designer handbag or straight-off-the-runway trend to make her closet appealing again.

Galli is one of hundreds of people who have spent the past several weeks participating in the 75 Hard Style Challenge, a fashion riff on strict New Year’s fitness routines intended to kickstart a healthier lifestyle in 75 days. Created on TikTok by Mandy Lee, a Brooklyn-based trend forecaster and creative known by the handle @oldloserinbrooklyn, the 75 Hard Style Challenge starts with a commitment to quitting shopping cold turkey for nearly three months. Instead, participants work on developing their personal style by documenting every outfit they wear for 75 days, assembled with clothes they already own.

The 75 Hard Style Challenge was an unusual proposition on TikTok, a platform where users’ persuasive reviews cause items as varied as oversize Acne Studios checked wool scarves and flimsy satin Zara dresses to go viral and sell out. Its emphasis on true personal style—made with a combination of clothes only one person owns—contrasts the cut-and-paste aesthetic trends that lead to duplicate outfits and overwhelming "cores" all over social media.

Maybe it’s because TikTok has made fashion so homogenous that the challenge took off. The call to hit pause on spending resonated: More than 21,000 posts are tagged with #75hardstylechallenge on TikTok; 14,300 share the same tag on Instagram.

For those who tried participating in the first wave, which ended on March 15, it was like a personal style wake-up call.

“Not only did this challenge allow me to fall back in love with my closet, but it has allowed me to be more mindful when it comes to shopping,” Galli says. A self-reported “impulse-shopper,” she noticed that the more she tried styling her own collection of hand-me-down coats and accessories from her grandmother, the less she wanted anything new. “I found that 95 percent of the time I would actually forget about the item of clothing I thought I could not live without,” she adds.

The 75 Hard Style Challenge framework wasn’t only about restriction, which may also explain its appeal. While holding off on new purchases for 75 days, participants also documented all the outfits they wore, made with pieces they already owned. “The point of the challenge is to get the most out of the clothes you already have and to become more confident when you’re getting dressed,” Lee explained in a kickoff video with more than 40,000 likes. (Lee was not available for comment.)

Marie Foxall, a Montreal-based artist, lasted almost the entire 75 days without a purchase; the things she did buy toward the end were staples to fill wardrobe holes she only found because of the challenge.

The exercise helped Foxall find a new community as she shared her outfits online, while helping her feel more inspired by the clothes she already owned. “It's easy to forget how much getting dressed in a fun outfit can significantly lift your mood,” she says.

A post shared by Saanya Ali

Not everyone who attempted the challenge wanted to stick with it. Saanya Ali, the CEO of Soirée, a hosting and entertaining platform, had felt herself becoming “complacent” with her personal style before committing. She documented her looks for 32 days before taking a one-month break.

“I was getting dressed and making videos and doing the 'right' things, but it stopped being for the right reasons,” she explains. “Waking up early to make a video of myself getting dressed on the internet felt like more of a stressor or a chore than something that was creative, fun, and inspiring the way it was at the start.”

Ali’s trial to the near-halfway mark did impact how she views her style anyway. “The peace that I found in the new closet staples that felt like ‘me’ continued on, despite not recording every day,” she says.

Mary Grace Skully, head of marketing for social shopping platform Locker, sat out of the challenge altogether after initially considering it. She was interested in a framework that could help her experiment with what she already owns, but the hard-purge on spending turned her away. “As an avid shopper, being told ‘no, you can't buy something’ is only going to make me want to buy it more,” she says.

@oldloserinbrooklyn

If style is truly individual, one viral framework was never going to work for everyone. Even those who tried it found that completing all 75 days wasn’t necessary to rediscover their wardrobes. Lee, who refers to herself as its “mother,” stopped posting about her TikTok child after day 34.

Mackenzie Newcomb, a writer and literary consultant, made it past the 70-day mark before caving to buy a white T-shirt and a striped sweater. Whether she intended to quit shopping or not, her existing wardrobe wasn’t sufficient for how her body had changed as a new mom.

“While I came slightly short of finishing it, I’m still proud of myself,” she says. “What I learned is that it’s a lot easier not to shop when you’re consistently telling yourself it’s ‘not for you.’ Once you start again, it’s difficult to stop.”

<![CDATA[ Dua Lipa Puts a Parisian Twist on Her Date Night Outfit Formula ]]> Dua Lipa does date night a little differently. Your classic 'dinner and a movie' will look more like 'luxury fashion event and a restaurant-slash-nightclub-slash-theater' when you're spending a night with the pop star.

Last night, Lipa brought her boyfriend Callum Turner to a Yves Saint Laurent beauty event in Paris, celebrating the brand's new Loveshine collection. After showing face at the launch, the singer and Turner hit the Silencio Club, a private members club and restaurant that doubles as a music venue and cinema, designed by David Lynch.

Lipa kept her style low-key, yet slightly dressier than the racing jackets and Ugg slippers she's worn with Turner in the past. This time, she wore a black oversize blazer and a black ruched top tucked into a pair of light wash blue jeans. The simplicity extended to her accessories: a black leather belt with gold hardware, gold hoops to match, a stack of rings, a black patent leather clutch, and black pointed-toe patent leather pumps.

The star has been embracing all-black attire on and off stage, on the red carpet, and off duty with her friends. Her dyed mahogany red hair has proven to be the perfect accessory, a pop of color against a basic or monochrome look. She's also known to spice up a pair of jeans—denim is a staple in her street style wardrobe.

She and Turner didn't dedicate half their evening to Yves Saint Laurent for nothing. As of last month, Lipa is the new Global Makeup Ambassador for YSL Beauty. The Grammy award winner has been the face of the YSL Libre perfume franchise as their global brand ambassador since 2019. Her new role goes beyond the scent category, currently focused on promoting the Loveshine franchise, YSL's new lip-focused line, which includes the cult favorite Candy Glaze lipstick.

As for last night's makeup, Lipa embraced a soft glam approach with glowy skin, subtle bronze eyeshadow, and a matte pinky nude lip. "The marinated makeup look is my every day; I love that," she told Elle. "Spider lashes is a good 'night out' kind of lash."

<![CDATA[ Katie Holmes Breaks Up With Her Staple Coat for the Denim Trench Trend ]]> There's no greater love story in street style than Katie Holmes and her camel coat. She's styled her longline jacket by Frankie Shop in countless ways this winter and spring, layered into looks as varied as an upscale commuter outfit with loafers and black slacks, to relatable jeans and hype-worthy sneakers. But even the best love stories have to end in the name of personal style, as Holmes proved yesterday.

Mere hours after wearing her camel coat yet again with black pants and Gucci loafers, Holmes went to see Alan Cumming's cabaret in New York City while wearing entirely new outerwear. The new object of her wardrobe affection? A slouchy denim trench coat with studded embellishments along the collar and bottom hem.

The coat, which hasn't yet been ID'd by a specific designer, is the aesthetic opposite of Holmes's usual outerwear. Where her longtime camel coat is polished and understated, her denim trench leans edgy and almost lived-in—it's a coat for a woman who wants to take risks. It also popped against the all-black canvas of the rest of her look, which included a crewneck T-shirt and wide-leg black pants.

While Holmes was willing to switch up her outerwear, she hadn't abandoned her trusty wardrobe staples entirely. The Dawson's Creek star still slung her best work bag over one arm: the Mansur Gavriel Everyday Tote, which Holmes carries as often as its name implies.

She also worked a subtle matching moment into her outfit, coordinating a pair of studded buckled ballet flats with the silver embellishments on her jacket. The exact pair is also yet to be identified—but knowing Holmes's stylist, Brie Welch, it likely comes from somewhere noteworthy.

Holmes's break with her usual outerwear aligns with a major fashion trend on the 2023 and 2024 runways, as well as within other celebrities' personal style. Trench coats reworked in denim are cropping up all over collections from Balenciaga to Nour Hammour; some variations come in all-over denim, while others mix khaki car coat material with jean patchwork. Meanwhile, in street style, Taylor Swift wore a version from indie label EB Denim to a girls' night in New York City—and it almost instantly sold out. Shortly after, the style appeared outside shows at Paris Fashion Week, styled with a range of It-bags and unexpected footwear.

Until Holmes and her team reveal exactly which brand she trusted to branch out from her usual wardrobe staples—or until her fans hunt down the exact coat—shop similar denim trenches below.

<![CDATA[ Zendaya Serves Two Tennis Looks to Kick Off Her 'Challengers' Fashion Tour ]]> Zendaya always commits to the role, on the screen and on the red carpet. Next month, she'll star in the new Luca Guadagnino tennis movie Challengers, and she's already doubling down on fashion choices that channel the film.

Last night, the actress wore a green, glittering custom Loewe gown to the Challengers premiere in Sydney, Australia, complete with matching pointed-toe heels and diamond dangle earrings. She was dressed by her long-time stylist Law Roach, who presumably enlisted Loewe for a special reason: The house's creative director, Jonathan Anderson, also designed the costumes for Challengers.

At first glance, the dress looks to have an abstract black spray-paint design. Upon closer inspection, the splatter is shaped like a tennis player's silhouette, getting ready to serve. In one hand, the shadow holds a racket. The other is throwing a tennis ball in the air, which lands somewhere around Zendaya's ribcage in the form of a black, green, and silver sparkling orb.

Roach often dresses Zendaya in Loewe. The Spanish "cool girl" upper-mid-range luxury brand is perfect for the people's princess of fashion. The premiere gown's long lines, plunging neck, and dramatic leg slit are also classic Zendaya calling cards.

Zendaya even coordinated her glam to her dress, wearing a shimmering green eyeliner and eyeshadow. She also went honey blonde for the premiere, with a curled up-do. (Image credit: Getty Images)

Before she hit the carpet, Roach styled Zendaya in a relaxed, preppy, tennis-inspired get-up to do press. She wore striped blue-and-white shorts and a loose, half-tucked-in blue button down from Elisabetta Franchi. The star dressed up the look with Bulgari jewelry and bright white Christian Louboutin stiletto heels.

"Dressing the part" is a familiar strategy for Roach and Zendaya. As recent as last month, the duo adapted Zendaya's style to fit a sci-fi mold, as the actress promoted Dune: Part Two wearing vintage Mugler à la C-3PO and a futuristic, sculptural Alaïa number.

It's not just this pair who goes all-in with cinematic references on the red carpet: The method dressing trend really hit its peak last summer with Margot Robbie wearing strictly girly pink for the Barbie movie.

<![CDATA[ I Tried the Viral J.Crew Pants Everyone's Buying ]]> I'll start by saying that I'm not a fan of dupes, so I'm not usually quick to recommend them. What I am a fan of are items that are good alternatives to an It item but that have their own unique characteristics. These alternatives are significantly easier to find when said It item is a basic, like the highly sought-after High Sport Kick-Flared Knit Pants.

High Sport's pull-on pants are constantly selling out because they're said to be as comfortable as leggings, but they look incredibly sleek and polished. So imagine my delight when I came across a pair of pants on J.Crew with a similar vibe but a far more reasonable $148 price tag—which explains why they've sold out multiple times. The pants are slim with a cropped subtle flare and a high waist. The fabric is a smooth, fairly thick sweater material, and there's a flattering pintuck detail down the length of the leg. One of the best things about the pants is that they're machine washable. To add to the pros, they come in both tall and petite sizes and are available in ivory, red, and navy in addition to black. J.Crew also recently released the pants in a full-length wide-leg iteration, which is also magical. I was lucky enough to get my hands on both and try them on for you, so let's have a look, shall we?

Keep scrolling for my photos and honest reviews of J.Crew's Delaney Sweater Pants (and to shop them, of course).

J.Crew Delaney Kickout Sweater Pants

My review: I was so excited to try these pants. The initial customer reviews were glowing, and they looked so chic on the model. Luckily, I wasn't disappointed in the least. When they arrived, my initial reaction was that they were a bit thicker than I expected, but it made them look and feel expensive. They have a good amount of compression to the fabric but without sacrificing comfort. For reference, I'm 5'4", and I ordered the pants in a size 4. They fit perfectly, and I liked that the length wasn't too cropped. They wash beautifully in the machine, and I wore them for several hours with no stretch-out. Suffice to say, I want them in every color.

J.Crew Delaney Full-Length Sweater Pants

My review: At my height, I worried that the full-length pants would be a bit too long (the inseam is 31 inches), but they were actually a lovely length. I probably won't wear them with flats, but I paired them with kitten heels for these photos, and they were perfect. They're the same material as the cropped Delaney pants, and I suppose because of the length they felt a bit more like a wide-leg pair than a flare. They were also a bit looser in the thighs. All in all, I would recommend these if you're on the taller side or just aren't into cropped pants.

Shop the Full-Length Pants

My verdict: At the end of the day, if I could only own one pair of J.Crew's Delaney Pants, I'd choose the cropped ones, as I found them to be a bit more versatile for my height, but I think they're different (and affordable!) enough to own both.
